About
A Family of Golfers
We're a family of golfers, and we print the courses people love the way a yardage book draws them: every hole numbered at its tee, with its yards beside it.

Why measure?
Hold up a print of your own course and you'll go straight to one hole, probably the one that has cost you the most, and read the number beside it; if that one's right, you'll trust the rest. That's why every yard on ours comes off the course's own map, and why we measure each hole again before it's printed, so a second copy matches the first.
What we never do
- Print a course we can't measure. Below nine numbered holes, the order button gives way to the count.
- Guess a par, or round a yard figure toward the club's card.
- Trace an aerial photograph, or set a club's crest on a print without the club's written permission.
- Pass off a painting as a drawing. A course drawing is made by our code from the survey; a painting on the View is made by an image model from your own photograph, and each page says which it is.
What we can't promise
The drawing is only as good as OpenStreetMap's survey of the course, and that is the work of volunteers. On our example course, three holes of eighteen land away from the Black tees: two match the White tees instead, and one line runs 19 yards long. We show those three on the home page rather than hide them.
Who makes it
Painted Course is made by PaintedApp, LLC in Portland, Oregon, one of the studios at Painted. We print every piece to order, and payments go through Stripe. Write to support@painted.app, and a person answers.
