Every page here, the studio included, should work with a keyboard, a screen reader and a phone held in one hand. This page says how, where it still falls short, and how to tell us.

What standard do you aim for?
WCAG 2.2, level AA.
That means text contrast of at least 4.5 to 1, a name on every control, landmarks and a heading order a screen reader can follow, and nothing that only works with a mouse. A person meets things no checklist catches, which is why the last section of this page exists.
Can I use the drawing without seeing it?
For its numbers, yes. Its shape has no words yet.
The course is drawn on a canvas, and the canvas carries a description in words: the course, the sheet, the colour and how many holes. Every hole's yards and par are set beside it as a real table, the card, which a screen reader reads row by row, and the count of what OpenStreetMap holds is a list of figures above it.
Can I order a print with a keyboard or a screen reader?
Yes, from the search to the payment page.
Every control in the studio is a native form control with its own label, and you reach each one with the Tab key. Find Your Course is a search form; the courses it finds are a list of buttons, and the first takes focus when they arrive. Each sheet, colour, print and size is a radio button you choose with the arrow keys, and each colour carries its name, so two colours can always be told apart in words. Each score box on The Round is labelled with its hole. Focus shows as a 3-pixel red outline.
Look Closer opens the print in a dialog you can work with the keyboard: the arrow keys move around the enlarged print, and its Close button takes you back. Payment happens on Stripe's own checkout page, which Stripe builds and maintains.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, with one hand.
Every button, option and menu link is at least 44 pixels tall, so it's easy to hit with a thumb. Text fields are set at 16 pixels, so your phone doesn't zoom in when you start to type.
Does anything move?
No.
Nothing on these pages animates, so there's nothing for your device's reduce-motion setting to switch off. While the studio searches or fetches a course, a line of text says what it's asking and counts the seconds.
Where does it still fall short?
- The shape of a course has no description in words beyond its name, its holes and their yards. A screen reader user hears the card; the routing itself has no words yet.
- A Digital File you download is an image, so a screen reader can't read the yards printed on it.
- On a narrow screen the card scrolls sideways: it has a column for every hole.
How do I tell you something doesn't work?
Write to support@painted.app.
Say which page and what happened, and what you were using if you know it: the browser, a screen reader, a magnifier. If any part of ordering gets in your way, tell us the course and how you'd like the print to look, and we'll work through the order with you by email.
